The last cell phone post got so long and jumbled I got lost trying to determine everyone's opinion on this particular aspect of the cell phone....
I understand everyone's varying opinion on being on the phone when you're in line and being helped. Yes, it's true, there are those people that cannot seem to handle doing two things at once. (frequently I'm one of them lately)
This however is VERY annoying to me. The other day I'm walking into Stater Brothers on the phone with Di. I don't remember what was said but I was laughing. Yes, Michelle has pointed out some people do find my laugh annoying, but that's besides the point. Anyway, this big black lady says..."that's right, talk out loud!" with an annoyed glare in my direction.
This has gone too far! Suddenly, I feel conspicuous and rude...like I need to leave the building to continue my conversation.... Wait a minute, why do I not have as much right to talk in the building as much as the next guy? So my friend isn't right next to me. They're on the phone. Does that give the person with their friend physically there more right to "talk out loud?"
Considering I was the person on the other end of the call, it gave me a perfect feel for the situation. We were finishing up a conversation with a laugh and then some stranger chstises you. I hardly think the entrance to Stater Brother's requires silence. A verbal rebuke was hardly called for.
ReplyDeleteNy the way, the music and feel on here is perfect!
ReplyDeleteShe was COMPLETELY out of line....rude and uncalled for....that having been said, there is something "annoying" (not rude in this case) about someone walking along in public talking and laughing LOUDLY on a cell phone. I really have no idea why. I just know I too have been "annoyed"....would I EVER say anything?? may my tongue be cut out first!!!! haha btw LOVE this song....
ReplyDeleteI have a definite opinion, but I don't want to start a war.
ReplyDelete(Just kidding, but remember when Danae threw that little nugget out there and then left it hanging?)
