My view on the political topic.

First of all, Ant, had you initially approached the subject with an inquisitive mind seeking direction and answers, I would probably not have made the comment I initially did. However, it was in fact my interpretation of your initial post that you were looking for an argument or at the least, a very heated discussion.

That having been said, after reading your response to our comments I must say I am very thankful and appreciative that John and Jim took the time to reply so thoroughly to your questions. I imagine they remember what if felt like to be your age trying to get your mind around everything going on and making decisions on how YOU feel about it. Both had incredibly brilliant things to share and I must say I was completely impressed by both of them.

As to your comment Debbie, though said very lovingly, NEVER reprimand my child for asking questions no matter how heated you might feel the answers might be. And Anthony, please do not take this to the place where Debbie feared it would go by starting fights on here. I do however feel this might be a perfect place for people to learn and grow.

I like you Deb border on completely ignorant when it comes to politics, government and the like. Just another reason why I floundered at work trying to keep up with conversations by nodding my head with a blank look on my face...and there is never really an appropriate place to ask questions or seek any sort of understanding. I trust my family to provide answers and direction both to myself and my kids. Doesn't mean I'll agree, but I ultimately trust and respect them to answer honestly and from the heart.

  1. Danae, I am sincerely sorry if you took what I said to Anthony as a "reprimand". It was not my intention, nor would I have EVER done so for "simply asking questions". I will stand by my comment however that he (and every other young person out there) would learn more, and be a smarter person if they learned to listen to older people that they respect. I honestly believe it is the beginning of all true wisdom, and therfore a good place to start if you are really wanting to learn almost anything. As you know of course, the Bible talks about this in more than one place. I think we all eventually learn that, I know I did anyway, unfornately the hard way. But as I re-read how I said this to Anthony, how I started it out by saying a "19 year old kid" could and should have been worded a little differently. I am sorry if that hurt your feelings Anthony, again not my intention. However, I also stand by my comment that I believe all political discussions no matter rather they are for debate, argument or simply to learn more, should be kept on a personal blog page. Because no matter how good our intentions are, or how innocent our inquries, politics is a very touchy subject at best, and so very often bring about heated arguments and fights, that very often had nothing to do with the original question or thought, and I know for a fact I will simply avoid them in the future.
